Old Country Store
Contemporary identity system informed by nostalgic New England aesthetics
Developed a cohesive identity system for The Old Country Store, translating the atmosphere of historic New England mercantile culture into a contemporary visual language applied across print and environmental materials.
OVERVIEW
The redesign required a visual identity capable of preserving the store’s strong historical character while creating a cohesive and recognizable system adaptable across modern applications and merchandise. The challenge was balancing nostalgia with clarity and modern usability across multiple formats.
PROBLEM
Developed a typographic identity system informed by antique Americana, historic signage, and nostalgic print culture. Influenced by the atmosphere of the Lake Winnipesaukee region, the visual language incorporates weathered materials, historic architecture, and a muted palette derived from the surrounding natural landscape. Vintage-inspired typography and restrained applications across packaging, environmental graphics, and promotional materials established a cohesive and historically grounded identity system.
APPROACH
Delivered a cohesive identity system that reinforced the store’s historical atmosphere while improving consistency across customer-facing materials and branded applications.
